This is a lovely mermaid sapphire with shades of blue and green in the sunlight and a very slight, but beautiful opalescent effect. With flashes of green and blue, this emerald-cut sapphire weighs 1.07cts and is an unheated sapphire from Madagascar.
Like many sapphires, this gemstone was rather tricky to photograph. It displays largely a light shade of blue and green, but depending on the lighting and circumstances, it also displays a darker and more muted one. Regardless, this gemstone is absolutely wonderful in sunlight which is where the video was taken (indirect sunlight)
